Marc's (Metalbox founder) story: From a broken chain to a golden journey

Marc's journey into the world of jewelry began not with a big project or a big school, but simply with a broken necklace.

It was in the bustling streets of Aubervilliers that he decided to buy a modest piece of jewelry,
Unfortunately, this jewel did not last and eventually broke. Rather than part with it, a spark ignited within him: he planned to repair it himself.

The repair wasn't perfect, but the act of creation already resonates deeply. What began as a simple gesture quickly becomes a passionate curiosity—a fascination with how raw materials can be transformed according to his ideas, the various elements assembled, polished, and worked by hand, to make them truly precious.
Marc began experimenting with sparkling beads, teaching himself bead by bead. For two years, he immersed himself in the process: assembling, disassembling, and rebuilding. He felt the delicate weight of each bead between his fingers, the satisfying click of a clasp, the slow emergence of his own artistic language. He gave new life to old jewelry and dared to imagine entirely new creations.
Little by little, he finds his rhythm. His eye sharpens. His hands gain confidence. His ideas become bolder.

A turning point came when he met a woman—a former jeweler with unsold inventory after a difficult divorce. She had considerable experience, and Marc brought his digital skills, as that was his primary training.
A deal was quickly struck: “Teach me everything you know about jewelry, and I’ll build you a website.”

From this unique collaboration something truly special is born.
They launch pop-up sales, showcasing pieces imbued with heart and energy. Marc proudly presents his own creations—each one crafted with intention, a personal touch, and a deep respect for the story each stone tells. And in a remarkable twist, he returns to Aubervilliers—no longer as a buyer, but as a seller.

The roles are reversed. The story changes tone.
From there, Marc continues to create and sell his jewelry. Each new piece refines his craftsmanship. Many of his skills are self-taught—born through trial and error, passion, and perseverance.
With each creation, he elevates his skill, moving from curious beginner to accomplished creator. Like an epicurean, noble materials direct his art, like a breakthrough he demonstrates his expertise, his inventiveness, his sense of detail, delicacy, refinement, for original and stylized compositions.

Today, Marc proudly runs his own online jewelry brand — a reflection of his
journey, his growth and his unshakeable conviction that brilliance often arises where we least expect it.
